I’m excited to share my latest personal project, a Mecha design fully modeled and rendered in Blender. My main focus for this piece was mastering NPR (Non-Photorealistic Rendering) techniques to achieve a clean, vibrant anime aesthetic.
Workflow: Modeled with a focus on sharp silhouettes and hard-surface interlocking plates.
Shading: Custom Cel-Shading setup using the Shader Editor. I used the "Inverted Hull" technique for the outlines to maintain a consistent line weight that mimics traditional 2D ink.
Art Direction: The color palette was chosen to pop against a cinematic, hand-painted style sky, creating a contrast between the mechanical subject and the organic background.
Feedback and critiques are always welcome!
