I’m excited to share my latest hard-surface project: a high-fidelity chainsaw designed for a professional game pipeline. This asset was built with a focus on optimized geometry and realistic PBR texturing.
The process started with high-poly modeling in Blender, followed by a meticulous retopology to ensure a clean, game-ready low-poly mesh. I handled the baking and texturing in Substance Painter, where I focused on creating a "used but maintained" look, adding subtle surface imperfections, dust accumulation, and realistic wear on the guide bar and engine housing.
Technical Details:
Modeling: Blender (Hard Surface)
Texturing: Substance Painter (PBR Workflow)
Baking: High-to-low poly bake for crisp details.
Render: Cycles / Substance Renderer.
Feedback is always welcome!
